☺️Calling All Smile Makers

📣The Wise owls Initiative is collecting greeting cards to be distributed to the elderly this Thanksgiving and Christmas season in Williamson County, Texas (central Tx)

❓Want to get involved?

👏Participation is easy

🔷Purchase blank greeting cards
Or
Make greeting cards. They don’t need to be super fancy, and you definitely don’t need to be an artist. The seniors love cards made by children that are simple and uplifting, although we do have a few adults who make beautifully crafted cards.

🔷address the recipients generically
Example: “hello friend”

🔷sign the card
Example: “ love Sarah”,
Or
“your friend, Sam”

🔷No envelopes, please
We make sure all of the cards are uplifting, and deliver them in bulk to be distributed at the discretion of those doing the distribution.

🔷If you’re local, we can arrange a drop off. If you’re not local, no worries! You can mail them to us.

🔷Do you lead a club or are a teacher? Great! Let’s collaborate.

Thank you to the many volunteers that made it possible to deliver cards to several area assisted living and nursing homes today. 💗

I’m late updating you about what we did during the 2023 Holiday season, but here goes:

We delivered countless cards to local homes, as well ast to Meals on Wheels.

We also, with the help of generous donors, provided Christmas gifts to an area Nursing and Rehabilitation Home.

The Wise Owls Initiative
Nonprofit organization aiming to help to reduce the negative effects of isolation and loneliness among our elderly by means of engagement. We offer FREE activities, greeting cards, donated items, and more to elders at area nursing homes, assisted living facilities, etc. we also utilize the help of Meals on Wheels to disperse greeting cards to elders in the community that aren’t living in long term care facilities. We are a volunteer run organization.
