LABOR DAY WEEKEND CLOSURE

Terra Nova Center will be closed to the public, season pass holders, and all guests over Labor Day weekend, starting today, 8/31/2026. We will reopen Wednesday, September 9, for regular business hours. Community gatherings will continue as scheduled:
• Sunday Service - Sundays at 11 AM · All are welcome
• Community Drum Circle - Wednesdays at 6 PM · Hosted by Whole Life Rhythm

**Terra Nova Center Public Closure Notice**
**Tuesday, August 11 – Friday, August 21**

The Brigade of Light and Terra Nova Center will be closed to the general public from today through next Friday as we host a number of private sacred events and ceremonies on the mountain. As a church, the Brigade of Light is honored to hold space for memorials, weddings, spiritual retreats, and other sacred gatherings. During this season, we have been entrusted with several of these important ceremonies, and we want to ensure that those gathering here are given the privacy, peace, and sacred space these occasions deserve. We respectfully ask that **day pass holders and season pass holders refrain from visiting the property during this closure.** Unless you are attending a pre-registered event or joining us for Sunday Service, the property will not be open for general visitation during this time.

This month's Healing Wednesday has been canceled. This week's Drum Circle hosted by Whole Life Rhythm has also been canceled. Our weekly Drum Circle will return next Wednesday, 8/16/2025 at 6:00 p.m. Our Sweat Lodge Ceremony will continue as scheduled this Wednesday evening for registered attendees. Please remember that this is a pre-registered ceremony and is not open for general drop-in visitation. Sunday Service will continue as normal at 11:00 a.m., and all are welcome.

Terra Nova Center offers many beautiful opportunities throughout the season to step into nature, reconnect, rest, and find a place of wholeness and centeredness. At the heart of all that we do, however, is the highest mission of the Brigade of Light: to hold sacred space. Sometimes that means opening the mountain widely to our community. At other times, it means creating quiet, protected space for those marking some of life's most sacred passages. Over the coming week, we are honored to do just that. If you are not joining us for a registered ceremony or Sunday Service, we will be holding the Light from the mountain for you, and we look forward to welcoming you back when our regular public access resumes.

Here at The Brigade of Light, we strive to live by our guiding motto: Love • Peace • Service. This weekend, we were deeply honored to welcome Ajahn Maha Dam, of the walk for peace, and fellow monastics that came for A Weekend of Peace. Together, we sat in stillness, walked mindfully, breathed intentionally, learned from Maha Dam, and shared in the quiet wisdom that emerges when we simply choose to be present.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Ajahn Maha Dam and the monastics for allowing us to support this beautiful offering, and to every retreat participant who opened their heart to the experience. Throughout the weekend, we were reminded that peace is not merely something we hope for—it is something we practice, together, one mindful step at a time.

From this mountain, we send peace outward in every direction. May it reach your home, your family, your community, and your heart. May we each continue to carry a light for the highest and best in one another, remembering always that the path of love is a path of peace. Due to ongoing lightning in the area and significant rainfall since yesterday, we are canceling tonight’s Blue Ghost Firefly viewing out of an abundance of caution.

Our trails and viewing areas near the lake have taken on a substantial amount of rain. At this time, the best thing we can do for both guest safety and conservation is to keep people off the trails and out of the forest this evening and allow these areas time to rest and recover.

We appreciate your patience, your understanding, and your support of our commitment to safety and conservation as we move forward together.

We have added an additional special viewing date for Sunday, May 31st. Guests are welcome to transfer their tickets to May 31st or to any other upcoming available tour date.

We are back with Whole Life Rhythm, radiating rhythm from the mountain! Our weekly drum circle is back every Wednesday from 6-7:30, and a very special last Sunday of the month Beats & Eats community drum circle and potluck! This is a facilitated drum circle, where you will be learning rhythms. All ages and stages are welcome as long as they are able to learn in a workshop environment.
