Yesterday, we concluded the learning portion of our journey with a visit to the Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery.
This was more than a museum visit—it was an invitation to remember.
Every exhibit, every artifact, every name, and every space was designed with incredible intentionality. As we moved through the museum and memorial, history came to life in ways that it just cannot in a textbook. We found ourselves slowing down, listening carefully, asking questions, and reflecting deeply on the stories of those whose lives helped shape our nation.
Throughout the week, we have learned about the courage of the Birmingham Campaign, walked the halls of 16th Street Baptist Church, stood in Kelly Ingram Park where young people changed history, served alongside organizations working to strengthen communities today, and cared for God’s creation at Jones Valley Teaching Farm.
Yesterday, reminded us that remembering the past is not simply about looking back—it is about understanding how we are called to live today.
Our mission trip theme has been Serve • Learn • Grow, guided by one simple question:
Where do you see God?
This week, we saw God in the hands that served, in the voices that shared their stories, in the beauty of creation, in the courage of those who stood for justice, and in the hope that continues to inspire reconciliation and love.
As we return home, we do so with grateful hearts—not only for the places we’ve visited, but for the people we’ve met and the lessons we’ve learned. We pray that this experience will continue to shape us long after the trip ends, encouraging us to love our neighbors more deeply, seek justice more faithfully, and walk more closely with Christ.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for us, supported us, and made this journey possible. We look forward to sharing more of what God has been doing in and through our students when we return home.
