The new year 2024 is in full swing and we pray you’re finding yourself experiencing higher heights and deeper depths in God all through this “doors of destiny” season.  As we’ve moved into this new year, we’ve heard the call from the Lord to buy oil to prepare for all that’s to come. T...

BUY OIL
(2/25/24, 7:45AM) I kept seeing a man in the spirit. He is standing in line to be anointed by a minister. The minister is full of oil (his body looked like an oil flask). The man is eager to get a spot of oil on his forehead (the tip of the ministers finger that had oil on it) from the minister that is full of oil. The man gets his touch and walks away, content with the oily spot on his head. He shows everyone his spot, tells everyone the words that were said when he was anointed. He then took some of the spot of oil on his head and puts it on another, attempting to anoint as the minister full of oil did. He never realized that his spot of oil was dry.

While the vision is pretty straight forward, I asked the Lord what I was seeing. He said "It's the condition of many. Like in the story of the 10 virgins (Matthew 25) five of them only wanted a spot and the other five wanted to be filled with and carry their own oil. The "foolish" were content with being parrots and giving second hand revelation as their own, running on fumes of the words heard from another and the impartation received from people full of oil. The spot of oil on their forehead distracted them from dryness of their oil jar.

The Lord is calling out and saying "Buy oil while there is time to acquire it."The time of needing to tap into your oil reserves will come, but if there are no reserves You will look to other people and unhealthy things to fill your dry well.

God is raising up men and women that will teach the body of Christ not just how to buy oil, but how to keep it overflowing as well. Spiritual oil architects are moving to the forefront with great strategy and insight on how to dig for oil, how to discern where to find it and how to manage it once the well is struck.

And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for works of ministry and to build up the body of Christ
Ephesians 4:11-12

Melissa & I were on a zoom meeting with some great people that are helping us expand and grow what we are called to do. One of the questions we were asked was “in light of who you are, what is one outcome that is consistent in what you do for the Lord?” I had to think about it for a moment, but the answer that came from the both of us was this: We help people heal, be whole and become effective.

I am a firm believer that part of the “equipping of the saints” that happens through those in these office roles (not the folks that take on a title because a test told them they were something, but the ones that have received that assignment from the Lord and it’s been confirmed by others in that space) is to equip people with healed, whole hearts, minds and souls so that they can effectively represent and reproduce the King and His Kingdom wherever they are. It’s fruitless to teach mechanics when the container to carry the oil needed for the job is broken. Heal the vessel and the work will be effective and fruitful.

When you express love to the ones you love deepest, your heart soars, so never miss a moment because you don’t know how many moments you have left with them.

Bedtime Thought:
I wake up and go to bed with discipleship, and how needed it is for the church to actually thrive in the midst of difficulty, on my mind.

How do we do it well?
How do we make it effective?
How do we raise up people in love and power like Jesus did?
How do we transmit the longing on the earth for people of integrity, humility, good character and meekness to others?

In the end, disciples aren’t made from a stage, they’re made in the field and around tables.

Help me make disciples Lord.

MARCH ON IN STRENGTH
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.
Psalm 73:26 (NLT)

I heard the Lord say: The agenda of the enemy in the month of March is to cause the strength of many to fail. April will bring with it a "spring in your steps", so March will be an attack on strength, not to keep you from the new necessarily, but to pull you back into the old you've been burying since the beginning of the year.

The stressors of February are starting to strain your strength. The fiery arrows being fired at you are growing in intensity. The external thought of "can I really hang on?" is trying really hard to take root.

The Lord says Take courage! He remains the strength of your heart. Find where you've leaned on Your own strength in February and hand them over to Him so that His strength can do its work, which is perfect.

The key to overcoming the usurping of strength is to remember His faithfulness towards you in the arena of strength. He is strong and you are familiar with leaning into His strength, so lean again. Remember and lean, that is the equation to overcome.

Do not fear the strength sapping attack. Remember, lean and receive His supernatural suplementation of strength that will propel you into the dawning of your new day in April.

Leaders (especially those called into five fold office slots) equip those that follow to engage God and others well.

Leaders should also model for those watching what it looks like to actually live out what they are trying to equip people with. Leaders shouldn’t be teaching things they aren’t living.

Stephen (Acts 6 & 7) knew the Lord in the good, but the heavens opened and he saw glory in the midst of great trial (which cost him his life).

We can know Him in the good, but glory comes on your life in a way that it won’t in other ways when we are faithful to endure the testing, the trials, the persecution. We were promised by Jesus that we wouldn’t live an easy life, but we were also promised that He’d be with us and that He’d crown us with glory.

Face the testing. Overcome the crushing. Walk in greater glory.

Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, Which, He said, you heard of from Me….
- ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬

WAIT…..Don’t go, don’t depart, don’t withdraw…..WAIT

The instruction to the disciples before Jesus ascended was to wait for the promise. They did. 120 in total did. What about the ones who didn’t, who couldn’t, who didn’t want to, who were too impatient?

Society has created a culture that doesn’t know how to wait for anything. Everything is instant, on demand, our way. Waiting, the instruction given by the Savior which kicked off the start of the first church, has been virtually done away with.

As I write this I am reminded of so many somber stories of those who couldn’t wait. They were invited to the upper room, but they couldn’t handle the waiting, so they went and tried to acquire the promise of the job, the ministry, the marriage, the money, the physical intimacy, on their own terms and in their own way. The simple instruction was to WAIT. They deemed that the Son was too unfair to ask that of them.

The invitation from the Son is a simple one: Will you wait for the promise? Whatever the promise looks like to you, whatever hope deferred heart sickness has tried to get you to give in to, whatever you think He’s forgotten about…..Jesus is still asking us the same question: Will you WAIT for the promise?

CHALLENGING LOVE
Last year I had a pastor friend from another state that invited me into their life as a mentor & father make this statement: At first I thought “does this guy even like me?” But now I know that you actually love me.

When I asked them to elaborate further, they said that how I challenged them and didn’t let them get off the hook struck deep wounds and things that they didn’t want to face. Me pushing, challenging and using the prophetic to call them higher caused them to face broken areas head on and that when brokenness arose and mistakes were made, I never pushed them away but instead came closer. They said “your faithfulness to not let me live a poor life in God, even though it was hard, showed your love and selflessness towards me.”

I share this not as a form of self promotion, but to simply say that it’s worth it to challenge those that are close to you for the sake of love. Jesus challenged the 12. He called out their heart motives and the sources of their speech (get behind me satan). He provoked them with His own life to come up higher. When they failed, He didn’t abandon them, He stood by their side and loved them all the more. His strong words were interwoven with love, compassion, humility and grace. He gave us the example of His commitment to them by bowing low and washing their feet.

Not everyone will like the challenge. Some may actually distance themselves because they prefer mediocrity over glory to glory, but the assignment stays the same, to call people higher and help them get into real deep relationship with Jesus. Are we willing to challenge and love people into the more?
