Cedar Valley Young Professionals (CVYP)

Cedar Valley Young Professionals (CVYP) The Cedar Valley Young Professionals' mission is to promote an environment that attracts and retains young professionals in the Cedar Valley.

Our goal is to connect with other professionals in the Cedar Valley. Connecting with others in person can be harder than ever in the sometimes remote world we live in today. This is why CVYP exists — to help connect you with the community and surround you with others who are in similar life stages. Currently, we only host socials; however, we would love to offer more events in the future. Unfortun

ately, we don’t have the support needed quite yet. If you are passionate about helping leaders grow, please reach out. We would love to talk further and find a way to reward your efforts and time. Every fourth Thursday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, we explore various restaurants, coffee shops, and bars in the Cedar Valley. Even if you don’t plan on purchasing anything or don’t drink, we would still love to see you there. For those who like to plan, come prepared to connect naturally with others. We provide a welcoming and inviting space for you to freely connect and meet new people. Our goal is to create a laid-back environment that allows for organic new connections.

Challenge your friends to a round of mini golf, test your swing on the driving range, or just kick back and connect with fellow young professionals in a laid-back, no-pressure atmosphere. Never swung a club before? No worries. We’ll have optional mini-lessons available so you can learn the basics and feel confident stepping up to the tee.

Why YP? It starts with community.

"I joined CVYP to connect with other motivated professionals in the Cedar Valley. Working in athletics and event management has shown me the value of strong community connections, and CVYP provides a great opportunity to build relationships, get involved, and support the area I work and live in."

- Emily Seliga, Event Manager at UNI Athletics

We had an incredible time volunteering at yesterday’s Community Impact event, trail cleanup at the Hartman Reserve Nature Center!

Our YPs helped shellack Hartman Hinterland houses, built a retaining wall to prevent erosion and wrapped up with a Try Pie social.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and gave back to the community!

Volunteers will assist with trail cleanup and light maintenance projects alongside the Hartman Reserve team. No experience is necessary, just come prepared to get a little dirty, enjoy the fresh air, and help preserve our local environment.
