We are so excited to share another wonderful addition to the Hansen Elementary Playground! With our PTA funds, and a generous discount from Smartbox AAC - US our playground now features a communication board, helping make playtime more inclusive for every child.

A communication board is a visual tool that uses pictures, symbols, words, letters, and numbers to help children communicate their wants, needs, feelings, and ideas. It can be especially helpful for students who are non-speaking, have limited verbal communication, are learning English, or simply benefit from visual supports. Best of all, it encourages connection, understanding, and friendships on the playground. 🛝💬

This board helps ensure that every child has a voice and every child has a way to join in the fun. ❤️

We are seeking one preschool paraeducator and multiple special education paraeducators for the upcoming school year! Another wonderful Variety Show this year!! Thank you to the parent volunteers who organized and ran try outs, came up with the schedule, figured out timing, music, and transitions, decorated, and showed up to run the show both days!! 😅 This is a big undertaking, and the students enjoy it so much. We are so grateful for those who volunteer their time to give the students this experience! ❤️🖤
