Sometimes it still shocks me.

I can be going about my day, and then I remember that my husband died by su***de. No matter how much time passes, that reality can still stop me in my tracks.

Since it is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, I want to say something I wish every man could hear: your pain matters. Your struggles matter. And asking for help is not weakness—it is courage.

Please don’t suffer in silence. Talk to a friend, a family member, a therapist, a doctor, or someone you trust. Let people show up for you.

If sharing my heartbreak can help even one person reach out before it’s too late, then it is worth saying: you are needed here, and there is help available.

In memory of my husband, and for every family carrying a loss like this, please check on the men you love—and men, please get the help you deserve. 💙 ***deprevention

If someone you love is showing warning signs… ask the hard question.

So many people are afraid that bringing up su***de will make things worse…
but avoiding it can be even more dangerous.

Sometimes love looks like noticing the changes.
The hopeless comments.
The withdrawal.
The things we want to explain away.

Asking, “Are you thinking about taking your life?” may feel uncomfortable…
but it could also be the moment someone feels seen.

Real love doesn’t always stay comfortable.

“If you were to take your life… you don’t end the pain. You pass it on.”

To your family.
To your friends.
To generations you may never even meet.

Please choose to stay. ❤️

A couple weeks before Sean took his own life, I heard him yelling…
not at someone else, but at himself.

Telling himself to get up.
To not be weak.
To just push through it.

That was my rock.
And it scared me more than I can explain.

I told him he didn’t have to be strong all the time…
but I wish I had stayed in that moment longer.
I wish I had held more space.

That’s why I created this organization.
So other men don’t feel like they have to carry it alone.

If you’re struggling… please don’t keep it to yourself.
And if you love someone who is, stay with them in it.
