At our club meeting today, Interact Club members came and presented to the club to donate for the fight against Polio for World Polio Day on October 24th. A club member said that if we raised over $500 at the meeting that he would let them paint his toenails purple. The club raised around $1000, so his toenails were painted purple. On our IGP radio show on 590 AM KSUB-Southern Utah News Leader Tuesdat morning October 13 at 6:30 am, in the first segment we interview Hepsiba Serrano. who manages the True Life Center food pantry and Rotarian James Lindsay Thelin who volunteers at TLC. TLC serves around 400 families weekly on Wednesday. They also discuss a critical need for a large commercial freezer. On our IGP radio show Tuesday morning at 6:30 AM our featured guest is Rachel Anderson, Pantry Manager at Iron County Care and Share. Rachel has started a monthly program featuring a business where donors can drop off food for our neighbors that are in need of supplemental food each month. August is State Bank of Southern Utah and September will be Bristlecone. Great idea. Director James Jetton discussed the upcoming golf tournament on September 23. On our IGP radio show for Tuesday July 14 at 6:30 AM on KSUB 590 our guests are from the Iron County School District, Dr. Lance Hatch and Shauna Lund. They do more that just instruct our children, they deal with poverty at many levels through the foundation.
