Appalachian Arts Center, a part of Southwest Virginia Community College, is a 4000 square foot gallery, marketplace and educational resource. These stunning hand forged steel roses are the latest work from local blacksmith Jared Ring of Red Cedar Forge.
Working primarily with a coal forge, Jared creates functional and decorative metalwork inspired by his Appalachian heritage and a passion for traditional craftsmanship.

A breathtaking new quilt has arrived at the AAEC! Created from antique flour sacs, artist Penny Haegerman truly stopped us in our tracks! The history, craftsmanship, and detail woven into every stitch makes this piece something really special.
Come experience it in person and explore all the other handcrafted pieces in the shop.
