March is “Music In Our Schools” month and we could not have chosen a better time to make history!!!

The Cecilia High Concert Band participated in 2 Concert Band Festivals and earned high achievements in both events!

Mar. 17 Southern University Concert Band Festival
“Superior” Rating

Mar. 25 LMEA Concert Band Festival
“Sweepstakes” which is a combined rating of “Superior” (highest rating) in stage performance and “Superior” in Sight-reading.

Stage Performance is where students perform rehearsed material.

Sight-Reading is where students perform material they have never seen with minimal prep time (8 minutes).

According to LMEA, this is the FIRST time a band from St. Martin Parish has earned this award.

We appreciate all of the support and encouragement throughout the year! On to state competition!
