💧🚒 Operation: Hydrate Our Heroes 🚒💧

The summer heat is here, and while many of us seek shade and air conditioning, our firefighters and first responders are out serving our communities every day. Whether responding to fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, or community calls for help, staying hydrated is critical to keeping them healthy, safe, and ready to answer the next call.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the Pike Road Ladies Auxiliary for organizing this incredible effort to support the men and women who serve Montgomery County. Their continued dedication to our first responders is a shining example of what community support looks like.

You can help by donating cases of bottled water and sports drinks to ensure our local heroes have the hydration they need during these hot Alabama summer days. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.

Tuesdays are filled with enthusiasm and enjoyment at the Church of the Holy Comforter food bank. The food and household items put a smile on many faces each week. Shoppers enjoy selecting household articles. This small addition to the food bank brings much excitement to the shoppers.

Join us by donating to our local heroes in Montgomery County by donating bottle water or Gatorade for first responders/ . This will help keep them hydrated in the summer heat. Please consider donating a case or two.

Your Next Adventure Starts Here!

We invite you to join us for our upcoming meeting, July 6. We meet at the Waugh Mt-Meigs VFD at 6:30pm. Come on board and be apart of something fun. We would love for you to join as part of our team. We meet once a month, no membership fee and empowered while .

is a great way to get to know your community, build friendships and be empowered. We give back through our Adopt-a-Family Christmas program, Community Service Scholarship program, neighbors helping neighbors, donating to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter food pantry to name a few.

In addition to , we empower ladies with painting, CPR, jewelry design, cookie decorating, various crafts, team building, self-defense, etc.

Congratulations to Alma J.Bowen!

Alma Bowen was honored with the 2026 Sherry Garner Memorial Award by the Alabama Association of Volunteer Fire Departments (AAVFD).

The Sherry Garner Memorial Award is one of Alabama’s most respected honors in the volunteer fire service. It was established in memory of Sherry K. Garner, who was the first female firefighter in Alabama to die in the line of duty and the first woman from Alabama honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial. The award recognizes volunteer firefighters who have demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, dedication, and commitment to their department, community, and the State of Alabama beyond normal expectations.

Congratulations, Alma Bowen, on this well-deserved honor. Thank you for your unwavering commitment, selfless service, and for paving the way for future generations of firefighters! Thank you for !

UPDATE: Meeting rescheduled for Thursday evening at 6:30pm at Waugh Mt Meigs VFD.

Empowering to provide elegant, mess-free single serve Charcuterie cups! Ladies will learn a fun and easy way to serve and make the party unforgettable.

Bring a friend and experience a fun filled evening learning to create a charcuterie cup and meet the wonderful ladies who make up the auxiliary!

We have a fabulous group of ladies who love empowering ladies and engaging with the community. This is a great way to build your network and make new friends.

Community Outreach Program- We continue collecting household items and plastic grocery bags for the Church of the Holy Comforter. Please bring items you wish to donate to the meeting.

Date – Monday, June 1, 2026
Time – 6:30pm
Place – Waugh Mt Meigs VFD – 20 Line Creek Rd.
