Gap Mangione is a celebrated jazz pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader from Rochester, New York. He began his career performing with his brother, legendary flugelhornist Chuck Mangione, as The Jazz Brothers, recording three albums for Riverside Records in the early 1960s. Over a career spanning more than six decades, Gap has performed throughout the U.S. and internationally, recorded numerous albums, and shared the stage with many of jazz’s greats. A longtime leader of the Gap Mangione Big Band, he was inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame in 2015 and remains an enduring figure in Upstate New York’s jazz tradition.
