Summertime is hay season! You’ll see farmers across South Carolina cutting, baling, and putting up hay to feed their animals throughout the winter season. Learn all about hay in this month’s featured read aloud β€œHey, Hey, Hey!” read by special guest Cheryl Parr, a proud Newberry County Farm Bureau member.

The rhyming story by Christy Mihaly and beautiful paintings by Joe Cepeda celebrate farming, family, machines and hard work. Happy reading! πŸšœπŸŒ±β˜€οΈ

Sprouts' Monthly Book for May is on its way to you! πŸ“šπŸ‘

When Polly's father goes overseas to fight in World War I, her whole world changes. Though the war is in Europe, its effects are felt on American soil. There are food, fuel, and other supply shortages everywhere. Everyone must do their part to help the war effort. As Polly struggles to make sense of the war, she wonders how she can contribute. When the government puts out a notice requesting peach pits to be used in gas mask filters, Polly knows how she can help.

The Peach Pit Parade written by Shana Keller is the newest addition to our library of Sprout's Monthly Books. Each book comes with a lesson plan and ready-to-use Google slides. Purchase your copy, access the free lesson plan, or subscribe to Sprouts' Monthly Book on our website: https://www.scfb.org/monthlybook
