A cluster of storms will likely produce pockets of damaging wind, perhaps locally exceeding 75 mph, as it moves east across the area this evening into the early overnight. If you have outdoor plans this evening, stay weather aware and be prepared to seek shelter if storms approach.

***SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER RISK SATURDAY EVENING***

We're going to watch for the development of a very intense wind driven storm system in central and western SD moving east this evening into early Sunday morning. How organized this line of storms becomes will determine the widespread nature of the risk.

This line of storms may produce widespread winds 75-100 mph as it moves east.

WE URGE all those with outdoor plans to be aware of the skies and take immediate action if warnings are issued!!

On Friday and Saturday 3 of our members where able to attend South Dakota State Fire School.
On Friday Shawn Diehl and Ray Meyer attended the Advanced vehicle extrication class. The class was held at Performance Towing & Recovery. A huge Thank you to them and the instructors for their time helping us sharpen our skills.

A huge thank you to Glacial Lakes Energy LLC for their grant opportunity for our department! Yesterday the CVFD was presented with a check that will help our department purchase desperately needed rubber hose for our fire trucks. Our department has not purchased new hose since 2006 when our Engine 1 pumper truck was new.
Grants like these are what help keep our small department functioning smoothly when disaster strikes.

Need a little help after responding to a medical call last Tuesday a compartment door had come open containing a Milwaukee hammer/bit driver drill batteries and various attachments would be in a case like this we use this on a regular basis so if found please get ahold of a CVFD member and we will arrange picking it up thanks in advance
