Hathkapasuta River Celebration An Interactive Educational Event - at the Illinois River Forks State Park The 2022 Hathkapasuta River Celebration will run from 11-6pm on Saturday June 18th.

Organized by CEEN, the celebration will feature activities for kids, a parade, live music, displays, and demonstrations. A hands-on, interactive environmental educational event designed for kids and adults, that celebrates our region’s interconnected natural resources and inspires each of us to care for our environment. Where do we begin? Hathkapasuta 2026 was amazing, perhaps the best one ever! The weather was perfect, the Three Acorn Maidens were made in time for their debut. The car counter showed over one thousand cars came to Hathkapasuta. Of.toi figure an average of three per car, that's a lot of folks gathering for community and fun at the river.

The Three Acorn Maidens, puppets being created by CEEN through a grant from the Josephine County Cultural Coalition, will be about 12 feet tall! We are now going into "blackout mode," from now on no photos will be posted on their progress, and if you want to see them, you will have to come to Hathkapasuta River Celebration at Forks State Park June 20th and see them in person.....Anticipation!

The Cultural & Ecological Enhancement Network (CEEN) is working on making real a vision we have had for a while of creating the Three Acorn Maidens (Black Oak, White Oak and Tan Oak) as giant puppets. (Each about ten feet tall). They will debut at Hathkapasuta River Celebration June 20th 2026!
