Andrea DiStefano β Coach Bio
Andrea brings a high-level playing background and deep understanding of the game to her coaching role. A standout high school player at Albany Academy for Girls in Albany, New York, Andrea went on to have an exceptional collegiate career at Methodist University, competing at the NCAA level and earning multiple conference honors.
At Methodist, Andrea was a four-year contributor and one of the most productive offensive players in program history. She finished her career ranked fourth all-time in points with 151 points (129 goals, 22 assists). As a senior attacker in 2009, she started every game, scoring 43 goals with five assists and earning USA South First Team All-Conference honors. Throughout her career, she was recognized for her consistency, versatility, and leadership, earning multiple All-Conference selections and a USA South Player of the Week award.
Andreaβs collegiate experience also included significant positional versatility. She began her career as a goalkeeper, playing every minute of every game as a freshman and posting one of the best goals-against averages in program history, before transitioning to attack and becoming a top scorer for the Monarchs. This unique background gives her a well-rounded understanding of offensive play, defensive concepts, and game strategy.
As a coach, Andrea emphasizes fundamentals, lacrosse IQ, competitiveness, and confidence, drawing on her experience as both a high-level scorer and a defensive-minded player. She is passionate about developing players at all levels and helping them grow both on and off the field.
