Cavalier Area Dollars for Scholars is a community-based scholarship organization, managed by a board of local volunteers who raise funds from the community to support local Cavalier, ND high school students. Cavalier DFS awards Cavalier High School graduates with Named Scholarships, General DFS Scholarships, Class Fund Scholarships, and the Graduate Scholarship. Named Scholarships: DFS is honored to award the following named scholarships each school year: Edward & Bessie Thomson Scholarship, Maida Stark Memorial Scholarship, Wayne Jenson Scholarship, Richard & Ellyn Halldorson Scholarship, Everett C. Hillman Memorial Scholarship, Gladys Tupa Memorial Scholarship, Carl & Helen Berg Scholarship, and Jack Mayo Scholarship.
