We have started our first fundraiser of the year! This year we are selling socks from November 12th -December 1st, there are 44 pairs to choose from that all cost 13.99. We are hoping to sell at least $150 and the money we make will be spent covering costs for any competition fees.

On Tuesday, some of our Ag Students/FFA members assisted with repackaging of our meat chickens that we raised by quartering the birds, getting them vacuum-sealed, and freezing them in preparation of our FFA banquet meal!
We raised these birds in our Agricultural Educational facility at school from late-March until Monday morning (June 2nd) when we loaded them on the truck to be sent for processing. We spent almost all day on Tuesday learning and practicing how to break down whole chicken carcasses. Many of the ag classes were able to watch and take part in the raising process of these birds and now have the basic knowledge to carry out a project like this on their own.

These birds will be the main course at our FFA banquet on June 20th! This is just a reminder that if you are planning on attending banquet we need a final count of number of people attending by next week.

Come and join us in celebrating our hard working FFA members at our annual FFA banquet June 20th starinf at 5 pm in the auditorium.
All are welcomed!

Join us after our banquet by bringing a dish to pass and joining in on our chicken dinner- the chickens were raised right here in our barn at school and cared for by the Ag classes! This provided our students with valuable hands-on experiences and the opportunity to enjoy the “fruits of our labor”!
RSVP information is on the flyer- we will need an accurate number of attendees to ensure we have enough food for everyone!

Twenty Two of our members and two advisors departed school on Wednesday morning with a destination of Syracuse for the 100th New York FFA Convention. Although the weather was not stellar we did not allow the cold and rain to damper our spirits or drive for success in our competitions. We had several of our members recognized on stage for proficiencies, competition results, and even an Empire degree!
We are so proud of our FFA members for their outstanding achievements at this year’s New York State FFA Convention!

We would not be able to do it without both of you and we are so appreciative of what you do for us every day, in addition to all of the knowledge and guidance that you provide!
And now we have four more banners to hang on the walls in the barn this week, and more plaques for the display case!
*We are still missing some team photos that we will snag this week- so if you were in Farm Business Management or Quiz Bowl, please bring your official dress this week!*

Congratulations to our Meats Evaluation & Technology team that competed on March 28th consisting of Breanna Unruh, Allie Erhart, Dannie Snyder, and Maddie Meyer! The team placed in the Top 3 overall, with Bre placing in the Top 10 individual! We will not find out those two placings until State Convention which means we will have to wait over a month!
In addition, Allie placed 11th, Dannie and Maddie tied for 13th individually.

Now we have to wait until May 7th to find out the final results!
Great job, girls!!
