Treble Choraliers The Treble Choraliers is the oldest women’s vocal ensemble in the New York State Hudson River Valley. Join Us! Sight reading is not required.

Formed in 1951, the Treble Choraliers is the oldest women’s vocal ensemble in the New York State Hudson River Valley. We are a non-profit, sponsorship-supported arts organization dedicated to performing women’s choral music. We are currently 30 voices strong with members from Greene, Columbia, Albany, Rensselaer, Dutchess and Ulster counties. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and musical e

xperience, united by our common love of choral music. Our youngest member is in her twenties; our oldest is in her seventies. Our repertoire and arrangements for musical tastes are wide-ranging and eclectic and include: Early Music, Ethnic Folk Songs, Gospel/Spirituals, Jazz, Classical, and Musical Theater. Composers represented in our recent concerts include: Randall Thompson, Cole Porter, Mozart, Irving Berlin, Brahms, Duke Ellington, Roy Orbison, Benjamin Britten, Gustav Holst, Bach, and Faure. We invite women of all ages (including students) who enjoy choral singing to join the Treble Choraliers. We rehearse Tuesday evenings at the United Methodist Church on Woodland Ave, Catskill, NY from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m., September until the Winter concert in early December. Rehearsals begin again in early January for the Spring concert in early May. We do not rehearse during the summer months (May concert date -August). We prepare approximately 15 numbers for each concert. Membership dues are $40 per year ($20 per half season). Some of our members participate in only one concert per year because of second residences and other outside commitments.

Good morning, beloved fans of the Twin Counties' oldest and most fabulous ALL WOMEN'S CHORAL GROUP, THE TREBLE CHORALIERS!!!! (furious clapping).

You may have noticed that posts on our page have been few recently. Actually, there haven't been any. Due to a technical glitch, we've had to design a NEW page. It'll be filled with all the information you need to keep abreast of Treble Choraliers activities and performances, and we'll make sure to post some photos too.

And lest you think that we are social media challenged, we're introducing our brand spanking new INSTAGRAM page. (more furious clapping)

Whew!!!! Our Choralier vocal chords are vibrating with satisfaction after the last rehearsals for FRIDAY'S WINTER CONCERT. The sopranos soared skyward, the altos dove deep, and the seconds - those versatile musical minxes - clambered up and down the scale with abandon!

Do we have a terrific show for you! The concert program is, as always (thanks Julie) a masterful mix of the old and new, toe-tapping and contemplative. Here's just a few sips of song to whet your whistle or perhaps, pique your pleasure: Deck the Halls; The Magnificat; Carol of the Animals, Jazzy Bells (or Belles, as this reporter feels is more appropriate); Over the River; and Let There Be Peace On Earth.

And for all you armchair - or in this venue, pew-bound - choristers, there's also chance for you to warble unto the starry night during the concert SING-ALONG. So be prepared to "sing out Louise (and Louis)" with the Twin-Counties' finest women's choral group!

So wrap up warmly and propel your peds to the TREBLE CHORALIERS WINTER CONCERT on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6 (that's TOMORROW NIGHT, kids) at 7:30 PM. Can you think of a better way to inaugurate the holiday season? I can't!!

What is so rare as a day in June? An evening in December with the Treble Choraliers!!! We women of song present only TWO evening concerts each year and, oh the heavens overflow, you can share one with us in just TWO weeks!

Unlike the Super Moons and the Milky Way - each of which seem to have appeared so frequently this year as to be boring - the Treble Choraliers will make their WINTER CONCERT appearance on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6 at 7:30 pm at the Catskill United Methodist Church!!

Julie Carney, our fabulous conductor, has put together a terrific program of songs. (I'd like to give you some hints, but for now, it's a sub rosa roster. I may be able to give you a few titles in a bit.) And of course Joanne Sammon, that wizard of the keyboard, will do her part in keeping us in time and on tone.

One fun part of the evening I can share is the Special Holiday Sing-Along with all of you. Ruminate on your favorite holiday songs, and I betcha, at least one of them will be on the Sing-Along list! So be prepared to make like a diva or divo and belt out those wintertime tunes!

And lest I forget, our audience is invited to join us immediately after the concert in the Fellowship Hall, for our world-renowned Afterglow Reception of homemade goodies and chaste libations!

Good morning, Treble Choraliers fans!

Although our posts on this site have been few recently - OK, they've been entirely absent - you may be reassured that we choristers have been neither slumbering nor sleeping. We are the Santa's elves of song, diligently working our voices in preparation for............OUR ANNUAL WINTER CONCERT!!!!!!

Details will follow but here's what this correspondent can share right now: Mark your calendars, digital or analog, for FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6th, AT 7:30 PM at the CATSKILL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, WOODLAND AVENUE, CATSKILL.
