Thank you to all that came out and supported Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter and Ladies of Vision Charities, Inc.'s Free Community Shred Day last month. Together with our community partners, we were able to make our Baltimore County community cleaner and continue the work of enhancing our environment. UEO's Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) recently concluded another successful cohort with a heartfelt closing session celebrating our students' accomplishments.
During the closing session, students reflected on their journey through the program, sharing highlights from sessions on social activism, STEM, cultural awareness through food tastings and traditions, and healthy living. Their presentations demonstrated not only what they learned but also how they have grown. These remarkable young people are our next generation of queens and leaders.

Earlier this month, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter and Ladies of Vision Charities, Inc. hosted the annual Black Business Symposium at New Town High School in Owings Mills, Maryland. This year’s theme, “Vision to Venture: Generations of Entrepreneurship,” highlighted the importance of reinvesting Black dollars into the Baltimore County community and strengthening economic empowerment across generations. Guests enjoyed the opportunity to meet and shop with 15 local businesses, including several junior entrepreneurs. It was a great day full of engagement and networking!

Just in time for Summer! UEO’s GenNEXT committee led the chapter in collecting items for Summer Fun Kits. The items included activity books, crayons, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and more to help elementary school students stay engaged and have fun during their summer vacation. On Friday, June 12th, GenNEXT Chairman TiAwna Moffatt Daniels and UEO sisters Jennifer Robinson and Ashley Barnes donated 36 Summer Fun Kits along with 5 boxes of chalk, chalk holders, and 29 shirts to Lansdowne Elementary School.
