Friends of Great Kids Farm

Friends of Great Kids Farm Great Kids Farm is a 33-acre working educational farm owned and operated by Baltimore City Public Schools. The Farm is a unique asset within the school system.

Supporting and enhancing the programs at Baltimore City Public Schools' Great Kids Farm, working to reach each of the City Schools' more than 76,000 students to educate them on healthy eating and healthy living. The Farm offers engaging educational and career training programs that nurture positive relationships with fruits and vegetables, provide skills that empower students to lead healthy lives

, and inspire a love of learning and the environment. The district needs the support of a diverse community of stakeholders, funders, and advocates to ensure all City Schools students can benefit from this amazing resource. Friends of Great Kids Farm was formed as a partner to the school system to support this unprecedented project. A deer fence, work trucks, field trip transportation funds, tractor repair, honey bee colonies...the unique needs of a working educational farm exceed what City Schools can fund on its own. Since its inception in 2011, Friends has raised funds for critical assets to the Farm's growth, ensuring all of Baltimore's students have access to this amazing resource. We’re approaching the halfway point of our monthlong partnership with the Giant Food Community Bag Program. Thanks to your support, we’re already making a difference. Now is the time to keep that momentum strong.

For every $2.75 reusable Community Bag purchased at the Giant at 6223 Baltimore National Pike during July, we receive $1 to support our mission. Each bag purchase represents a simple action with real impact, sparking positive change in our community and helping those in need.
There’s still time to grow what we’ve started!

The Farm staff have all A’s this year! 🌟

It’s been an incredible year of growth, learning, and impact at Great Kids Farm. From field trips and classroom programs to summits, Farm Family hours, and harvesting fresh produce, the team has worked hard to create meaningful experiences for thousands of students and families.

We hope the Farm staff enjoy some well-deserved time off before summer field trips begin. Thank you for helping make this year such a success! 🌱💚
