We are proud to recognize Carrie Douthit as the 2026 recipient of the Joyce K. Smith Leadership in Community Partnerships Award.

As Office & Human Resource Manager at Greenscapes Land Care, LLC, Carrie exemplifies the power of community partnerships in action. Since joining MBRT's Speakers Bureau in 2019, she has supported more than 890 students through mock interviews, resume workshops, career fairs, classroom presentations, industry tours, and other career-readiness experiences.

What makes Carrie's impact especially meaningful is her willingness to go beyond the event itself, offering additional resume support, practice interviews, and encouragement to help students build confidence and prepare for their futures.

Congratulations to Jaynesh Patel, recipient of the 2026 Norman R. Augustine Leadership in Business Partnerships Award.

This award honors MBRT's founding Board Chair, Norman R. Augustine, by recognizing exceptional business leaders who have made a significant impact on employer engagement in Maryland's education system.

As Sector Vice President of Engineering and Sciences at Northrop Grumman Corporation Mission Systems, Jay leads approximately 11,000 professionals while championing initiatives that connect students with real-world career opportunities. Under his leadership, Northrop Grumman employees have played an active role in MBRT's Speakers Bureau and career-connected learning experiences, including the 2025 Engineer My Future Industry Day.

Congratulations to Matthew Johnstone, recipient of the 2026 June E. Streckfus Leadership in Education Partnership Award.

This award honors MBRT's founding Executive Director and recognizes education leaders who build meaningful partnerships between education and business to benefit students.

As the Apprenticeship Coordinator for Harford County Public Schools' Career and Technical Education Office, Matthew has been instrumental in expanding access to MBRT programming and resources. Over the past year, he has connected more than 100 teachers and all HCPS career coaches to opportunities that support college and career readiness.
