For the past two years, Mosaic Christian Church has partnered with Foster the Family during their quarterly Impact Weekends—and this past weekend was another incredible example of what can happen when people show up and serve together! ❤️

Volunteers came to our center to:
🎒 Pack backpacks full of school supplies
🍽️ Prepare meals to stock the freezer
👟 Organize shoes and supplies in the stockroom

With so many volunteers, SO much can get done in such a short amount of time. There’s truth to the saying, “Many hands make light work!”

Thank you, Mosaic, for being the hands and feet for the many children and families impacted by your generosity. We are so grateful for you! 💙

🎂 Every child deserves to feel celebrated on their birthday! 🎈

For many kids in foster care, birthdays can bring difficult memories or may not have been celebrated at all. Memories Foundation is working to change that! 💙

They serve youth in care throughout Prince George’s, Charles, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Howard, Baltimore City, and Baltimore County.

Birthday deliveries include:
🎁 A birthday treat of their choice
💌 A birthday card
🎈 A balloon
🎁 A gift from their wishlist

Birthday requests can be submitted through the link in our bio or here: https://form.jotform.com/202888896003162

They recommend submitting requests at least one week before the requested delivery date.

Memories Foundation also partners with Creative Chaos Studios to host a monthly birthday party in Baltimore for youth in care ages 8–21! 🎨🎤 Celebrations include food, treats, gifts, balloons, and a mobile art and karaoke experience.

Monthly party opportunities are available first-come, first-served, October 2026–August 2027.

Thank you Memories Foundation for working to make birthdays memorable! 💙🎂

🧼✨ So Fresh & So Clean-Clean! ✨🧼

We’ve had an incredible number of care package requests lately, and our stockroom is running low! One thing all of these care packages have in common? Promoting good hygiene and helping vulnerable children and youth feel fresh, confident, and cared for. 💛

Our most urgent needs are:
🧴 African American baby soap & lotion
💇🏾‍♀️ Women’s hair care supplies

For the past three years, one of our amazing church partners, United Church, has faithfully provided new backpacks and school supplies for the kiddos we serve.

A new backpack. Freshly sharpened pencils. Unbroken crayons and colored pencils. Clean folders and binders.

These items do more than help a child feel prepared for the school year. For a child in foster care, they send an even more meaningful message:

You are seen. This is for you. You deserve nice things. You belong. You’re just like the other students.

Our gratitude spills over for the smiling volunteers who offer this kind of tangible, thoughtful support year after year.

Thank you, United Church, for helping our kiddos head back to school feeling prepared, valued, and cared for! 💛🎒

You know the need is urgent when, before the care package can even be set down on the porch, a foster mom is already unzipping the bags to grab pajamas for one of the two brothers who had just been placed in an emergency situation.

She had just finished bathing him and said, "You arrived at the perfect time."

Even with an already full household, she had said yes when DSS called back a second time, explaining there was no one else who could take these little guys—even if it was just for one night.

We often say that "everyone can do something" to support children in foster care, and that's true. But right now, one of the greatest needs is for more families to become the doorstep—to be willing and able to say yes to children who need safety, stability, and care during one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, even if it's only for a single night.

If you've ever wondered whether foster care might be for your family, we'd love to help you navigate the process. Whether you're interested in providing emergency placements or becoming a long-term foster family, we're here to connect you with the right resources in your county or city.

Email us at [email protected], and we'll help you get started.

Last weekend, we had the incredible opportunity to partner with Samaritan’s Feet, McLean Bible Church, Forcey Church, and New Beginnings Church for a special event dedicated to bringing smiles and support to local families in Montgomery County.

Sunshine & Sneakers attendees enjoyed a fun-filled day with a bounce house, bubbles, outdoor games, face painting, and plenty of laughter. Every guest received a free pair of shoes that represents a fresh step forward. We also cooled off with ice cream and Italian ice, making the day even sweeter!

We are so grateful for every partner, volunteer, and family who helped make Sunshine & Sneakers a memorable celebration. This day would not have been possible without the dedication of our incredible volunteers and partners who gave their time and resources to serve our community. Thank you for helping us create moments of joy and make a lasting impact in our community!

In the midst of the blazing summer heat, we are deeply humbled to be a resource for the children who need it most. While many children enter foster care during the school year, the need doesn't pause for summer. As this month's numbers show, many children are entering care right now, and families are continuing to say "yes" to welcoming them into their homes.

We are grateful to support children and families whose routines are suddenly turned upside down. Because of the generosity of our community partners, children can attend a pool party, enjoy a fun summer event, and experience moments of joy during an otherwise uncertain time.

We are also humbled to provide opportunities for foster and kinship parents to refill their own cups, knowing their children are safe and cared for by dedicated childcare volunteers who faithfully show up to serve. Kids Day Out does not happen without you.

July has been a month of gratitude and reflection as we look back on all that has already happened in 2026. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our community. Thank you for being part of this mission and for helping bring hope, care, and encouragement to children and families when they need it most.
