Today we were honored to have one of our Den Chief’s, Jake Allison, from Homer Troop 42 Boy Scouts, lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the Danville National Cemetery Memorial Day service. Thanks to VA Illiana Health Care System for allowing us to participate alongside American Legion Post 210 Danville, IL and State Representative Brandun Schweizer. Thanks to Steve Brandy from VermilionCountyFirst.com for leading today’s events. Most of all, thank you to those who have and continue to serve our country.

We at Prairielands Council, we are proud to stand beside the families who serve our country every day. With the new Scouting America Military Family Fee Waiver, eligible youth in Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard families can now have their national registration fee waived — helping make Scouting more accessible to military-connected families.

Scouting provides leadership, friendship, service, and stability for young people, and we are honored to support the military families who sacrifice so much for our communities and our nation.

Thank you to all who serve — and to the families who serve alongside you.

Look out for more in the future how we as Prairielands Council will try to include Military retirees and Veterans in this offer as well!

Scouting is about more than outdoor skills.

At Salt Fork Cub Scouts Pack 221, kids learn confidence, teamwork, responsibility, and leadership by teaching and leading one another. We believe you can’t lead others until you learn to lead yourself first.

We’re also looking for adults who want to make a difference. Cub Scouts gives adult volunteers the chance to grow as leaders right alongside the youth. No scouting experience needed.

Interested in joining as a scout or adult leader? Send us a message and come check out Pack 221.

The Wandering Scout is on the move!

Cub Scouts Pack 221 has officially released our first geocaching trackable into the wild!

If you find The Wandering Scout – Pack 221, here’s what to do:

✅ Log it on Geocaching.com
✅ Move it to another geocache
✅ Help it travel as far as possible
✅ Share photos and adventures along the way

If you’re new to geocaching, it’s a real-world treasure hunt using GPS coordinates and the Geocaching app to find hidden containers and trackable items.

Our Scouts have hidden several geocaches around town and now this trackable has started its journey too. We can’t wait to see where it travels.

Happy hunting and safe adventures!

Baseball, soccer, taekwondo, racing—and plenty of other sports keep our kids busy. But at Salt Fork Cub Scouts Pack 221, your child still gets something different: time outdoors, real experiences, and lessons that stick.

This week, our Scouts hit the trail for a hike to Pebble Beach at Camp Drake. They explored the bank of the Salt Fork River, took in the views, and enjoyed a beautiful night together. No screens. No distractions. Just fresh air, teamwork, and a chance to slow down and learn.

That’s what Cub Scouts is about:
• Building confidence
• Learning skills that matter
• Spending time outside
• Making memories with family and friends

If your child is already active in sports, great—we support that. Cub Scouts fits right alongside it and gives them something those activities don’t.

Come check out Pack 221 and see what your family has been missing. And if you’re not in our area, be sure to reach out to Prairielands Council Scouting to find out where you can join.

Something fun just popped up around Catlin…

Cub Scouts Pack 221 has hidden several geocaches around town for the community to find.

If you’ve never heard of geocaching, it’s basically a real-world treasure hunt. People use a phone or GPS to find hidden containers, sign a logbook, and put everything back for the next person.

It’s a great way to get outside, explore, and spend time with family.

A few things to know:
• Everything is hidden in safe, public areas
• Nothing needs to be forced or taken apart
• Please respect property and put items back as you found them

If you’re looking for something new to do, this is a fun way to get started.

Happy hunting!
