While today is Purple Thursday, any day is a great day to show your support for survivors of domestic violence. Every purple shirt, ribbon, and show of support helps raise awareness and reminds survivors that they are not alone.

As Domestic Violence Awareness Month begins, you may notice some purple lights and signs around town.

Throughout October, the staff of The Charlotte House (a program of St. James Family Center) and local businesses are helping raise awareness by lighting their storefronts with purple lights and displaying purple signs throughout our community. Purple is the color of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and serves as a visible reminder that domestic violence affects individuals and families in every community, including our own.

These purple lights and signs represent more than awareness. They symbolize hope, support, and a commitment to standing with survivors. They remind those who may be experiencing abuse that they are not alone and that help is available.

Together, we can raise awareness, support survivors, and work toward a future free from violence.

If you have a 3 or 4 year old child and would like for them to attend a level 5 quality rated program, hurry over to St. James Family Center to inquire about the few slots we have open in our ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program)preschool classroom. Classes start Wednesday, September 9th.
