Dolly Parton showed this world what it looks like to lead with love.

She stood with our community long before it was easy.

Her voice created a world where LGBTQ+ people feel seen and celebrated.

All of us at HRC will miss her dearly — and we will carry forward the light she shared with us.

HHS issued a new rule that would ban federal funding for medically necessary care for transgender youth under the age of 18 for Medicaid and under the age of 19 for CHIP. It’s important to note that this does not ban currently available care, and states that permit care would still be allowed to use available state Medicaid and CHIP funds.

“With this new HHS rule, the Trump Administration is once again doing serious harm to trans youth and their parents, who simply want what every parent wants for their child: to grow up to become thriving, healthy, happy adults. Families are working with their medical providers to make sound and private healthcare decisions for their families—and federal agencies and legislators have no place in that conversation. To every transgender youth, every parent, every family: PFLAG has your back. We see you, we value you, and we will never back down to ensure you get the care and support you need, when you need it.” —Brian K. Bond (he/him) CEO, PFLAG National

Everyone deserves access to affordable and affirming healthcare, and we will NEVER stop fighting for our trans loved ones.
