Scouts BSA Troop 47 participated in Wreaths Across America and cleaned some graves while they were at it. Great job, Scouts!

The public is invited to join us as we celebrate the Scouts’ accomplishments during the Court of Honor on December 15th at 6:30 p.m. at VFW Post 10558.

Troop 47 held a flag retirement ceremony this past weekend to honor our Veterans.

Join us on Saturday to enjoy a Veterans Day Flag Retirement Ceremony.

Show up a little early and enjoy a $10 all you can eat breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Local Scout units, individual Scouts, or other youth who would like to learn how to retire a flag are welcome to join us!

Troop 47 and Troop 74 held their annual Halloween party tonight! 👻

Some of the adult characters were injured on their way to the meeting so the Scouts had to discuss ways to treat their injuries. 😢

We ended with a dessert cooking contest where each Scout provided an entry. 🍮 🍨 🍰

Cycling Merit Badge is under way!

This was a good 5-mile safety ride with a skills test beforehand.

We’ll see if we can get our two 10-mile rides done this weekend.

Scouts Camp Cards are now available! These cards help Scouts get to summer camp and leadership training, and help them pay for uniforms and other activities.

The card on the left has many Columbus-based businesses and the card on the right has many Harris County-based businesses.

Each card is $10 and all deals expire on December 31st. Many can be used more than once.

$5 goes directly to Troop 47.
$4 goes to Scouting in our local area.

Please pay via Venmo or contact us so we can meet you and collect payment. We’ll also coordinate mail or delivery for Venmo orders.

Dozens of Scouts braved the freezing temperatures at the 41st Annual Freeze-o-ree!

Our Scouts prepared for it and came out of it with increased resilience.

On top of the cold-weather experience, they all played various games that taught teamwork, leadership, and practical camping and life-saving skills. They had fun while learning.
