When you call 911, every second counts! Clearly visible house numbers help firefighters and EMS locate your home when you need us most.

✅ Make sure your house numbers are easy to see from the road.
✅ Keep numbers clear of bushes, decorations, and other obstructions.
✅ If your mailbox has your address, make sure those numbers are visible, too.

Take a minute today to check your address numbers. It's a small step that could make a big difference during an emergency!

Thank you, Cataula! 🚒❤️

The storm has moved on, and we're grateful to say our area came through in good shape. We had a few power outages and some downed power lines and trees, but nothing beyond what we could handle, and no serious injuries reported.

A big part of that is thanks to YOU. By staying home, staying off the roads, and looking out for one another, you made it possible for our crews to respond quickly and safely to the calls that did come in.

This is a great community, and it's an honor to serve it. Thank you for listening, for being patient, and for being good neighbors.

A few reminders as cleanup continues:
⚡ Treat every downed power line as live and stay well away from it. Call 911 to report it.
🌳 Be careful around damaged trees and limbs, which can shift or fall unexpectedly.
🔌 If you're using a generator, keep it outside and away from windows and doors.

Stay safe, Cataula. We're always here for you.

⚠️ Preparing for the Storm ⚠️

As Hurricane conditions approach, the men and women of Cataula Fire and Rescue are getting ready. Our team will be meeting ahead of the storm for pre-planning and a full equipment check to make sure every truck, tool, and piece of gear is ready to go.

No matter what this storm brings our way, we'll be here, trained, prepared, and standing by to serve our community. 🚒

We encourage everyone to take this time to get ready at home too:
✅ Charge phones and backup batteries
✅ Stock water, food, and medications
✅ Secure loose items outside
✅ Keep flashlights and batteries handy
✅ Know your evacuation plan

If you have an emergency, call 911. Stay safe, stay informed, and look out for your neighbors. We've got you, Cataula. ❤️

🌧️ **WEEKEND WEATHER UPDATE – CATAULA & HARRIS COUNTY** 🌧️

As we head into the weekend, Cataula Fire & Rescue is keeping a close eye on the forecast as our area could see potentially severe weather associated with the hurricane bands moving through the region.

While the exact impacts remain uncertain, there is still a chance of **strong winds, heavy rainfall, localized flooding, and possible severe storms.** Please don't let your guard down just because the weather may look calm at times.

🚒 **A few reminders to help you prepare:**

✅ Secure outdoor furniture, decorations, and anything that could become airborne.
✅ Keep phones charged and flashlights handy in case of power outages.
✅ Avoid driving through flooded roadways.
✅ Stay weather-aware and monitor updates from the National Weather Service.
✅ Use caution around downed trees and power lines.

Our volunteers are always ready to serve our community, but we encourage everyone to take precautions and stay informed as the weekend approaches.

**Stay weather-aware. Stay prepared. Stay safe!** 🇺🇸🚒

🍂 Fall Fire Safety Reminder 🍂

As temperatures drop, home heating fires become more common.

A few quick tips:
🔥 Keep space heaters at least 3 feet from anything that can burn
🔥 Have your chimney and heating equipment inspected
🔥 Test your smoke alarms monthly and replace batteries as needed
🔥 Never leave candles or space heaters unattended

A little prevention goes a long way!

Also, don't forget about our 21st Annual Boston Butt Sale! Tickets are available from any of our firefighters, by mail-in, or online at www.cataulafirerescue.org/shop. Your support helps keep our volunteer department ready to respond.

Thank you, Cataula! 🚒

Behind every call for help in Cataula, there's a neighbor who answered it.

Cataula Fire & Rescue is a 100% volunteer department. Our firefighters leave their dinner tables, their beds, and their families, often in the middle of the night, to show up for you. They do it because this is their community, not because of a paycheck.

But training, equipment, fuel, and keeping our trucks ready all cost money, and our annual fundraiser plays a major role in making that possible. Now we're gearing up for our 21st annual fundraiser, and we need your help to make it our best yet.

🎟️ Every ticket you buy helps keep our community safe.

Ways to get yours:
👨‍🚒 Reach out to us and we'll connect you with one of our firefighters
💻 Purchase online anytime at www.CataulaFireRescue.org/shop

Twenty-one years of community support has kept our department strong. Thank you for standing behind the men and women who stand ready for you. Grab your ticket, bring a friend, and help us make year 21 one to remember!

Please share this post to help us spread the word. 🙏
