We had a really fun October Club Meeting! It started with a Halloween Costume Contest with lots of great entries! We even had a homemade tank!. We honored and thanked Mrs. Robbins for her 16 years of volunteering at Palomares! Thank you Jimenez Family for the awesome Halloween themed snack table!

A huge congratulations to our Shooting Sports - R***e Project. Mr. Robbins, the project leader presented awards from the 2026 State Championship. Well done everyone!

Please join us at Achievement Night on Friday, Oct. 16 from 6-8:30pm! Our record book award recipients are being recognized, and we encourage you to wear your Halloween costumes for our costume contest!

Palomares was well represented this year at the Alameda County Fair Carcass Contest. This is an awards dinner hosted by the Fair where all animals that were sold at the Fair's Jr. Livestock Auction are graded on the quality of the meat they produce. Our Sheep, Beef, and Swine groups were celebrated by receiving banners and checks for each group winning Herdsmanship. This is achieved by having the cleanest pens and area, informational posters and interacting/educating the public during the Fair in July. In Beef, my steer placed 2nd in the carcass contest with a Choice grade out of 31 total steers. The Sheep group was also well represented, with all of them grading Choice. I won the Carcass Contest with my lamb, Colette Brochu’s lamb placed 6th and Claire Brochu's lamb was 9th out of 85 lambs total. In the Super Lamb Contest, where carcass scores are combined with Fair live placings to determine the best overall lamb, I placed 1st, Claire was 3rd and Colette was 8th. I always have a great time at the carcass contest and seeing how my hard work paid off. - Grace Sullivan
