UPDATE- as per Regina’s family’s request, half of what is collected will be donated to the CES backpack program and the other half to the Anchor in Castleton.

Just a quick August Update: The Ken Morgan Memorial Clove Run is this Saturday, August 15th starting @ Castleton Elementary A 10K, 5K, and 1 mile fun run (see entry fees on their page). Participants are encouraged to bring a donation of non-perishable food items and/or toiletries to this community event which benefits the Anchor. We are here for the Schodack community who may be experiencing food insecurity. Call 518 732-4120 and ask for Paula.
Our Thrift Store is packed once again from generous donations for anyone who enjoys Thrifting! $10.00 a bag for clothing, all in excellent condition, many name brands. Sizes 4-14 in children, 2-4X in women, extra small to 2X in men. Shoes, pocketbooks, laptop bags, and practically any household item you might need- wide selection of dishes all at minimal cost or donation. Open the same hours as our food pantry, all proceeds help purchase needed items from the food bank.

FYI: We can now raise money from your bottle and can redemption! The bottles can be taken to the bottle distributor behind Starbucks in Hannaford Plaza,(not Hanaford Market) in East Greenbush. Just say it is for The Anchor Food Pantry account. Thank you for helping your community!

Thank you to Grapeful Wines and Spirits for collecting non-perishable food items and toiletry items for us! You are a wonderful community neighbor and small business. 🫶🏻 donations will be accepted through July so please stop in at the Tractor Supply Plaza in Schodack and help us fill our shelves for the Schodack town community.

HAPPY SUMMER!
As everyone knows, our Food Pantry has been here for years ready to assist residents of Schodack should the need arise. Families, Seniors, Individuals who have lost their job, anyone experiencing food insecurity are welcome to call-(518) 732-4120 and ask for Paula. The community has supported the Anchor Food Pantry through donations and sponsored food drives and our Thrift Store proceeds help with items we need to purchase from the Food Bank.
FYI: Our Thrift Store is open to anyone the same days and hours as the Food Pantry. Most clothing is $10.00 a bag (kitchen size bag!). Many name brands and all in good/excellent condition. (No infant clothing). Our volunteers are very dedicated and keep everything very organized. Some have been there many years and make the thrifting experience very enjoyable.
Housewares, beautiful glassware, clothing, shoes, bedding, gift items change constantly--below are pics of just a few current items-please share with family and friends-Use your imagination! Save money! Help your community and your world-it starts with you!

Location: 90 N Main St. Castleton(Located behind Riverside Center for Rehab—go up the hill from 9J/River Rd and bear to the right) Paula works with local businesses, the community, and the Food Bank to ensure the Food Pantry is stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, bread, shelf stable items and toiletries. It takes many helping hands and we are so thankful for all involved in these efforts. Donations of non-perishable and toiletry items are always needed.
FYI—Our THRIFT STORE is a hidden gem!!! Open to the general public the same hours and location as the food pantry. Men, women, childrens clothing (no infant) shoes, household items, dishes, beautiful glassware and much more. Items change constantly so it’s always an adventure! Please Note: June 13th we will be participating in the St Paul’s United Methodist Church Summer Kickoff (1583 Carney RdCastleton starting @ 1:00) with a table full of collectibles, summer fun items and Father’s Day gift items all from our thrift store! All proceeds benefit the food pantry so go directly back into the community. Come for a day of music, food and fun and help your community at the same time! Sprinkle kindness like confetti, make a difference!

Please help us collect items for our food pantry The Anchor Food Pantry Schodack.

Tomorrow (Apr. 25), 9 AM–12 PM: The "Stuff the Bus" Food Drive for the Anchor Pantry in the Maple Hill High School Parking Lot. All donations benefit The Anchor Food Pantry Schodack. Please consider helping out, especially if you're stopping by the Maple Hill Track Invitational tomorrow!

Look for the Schodack CSD us in the Maple Hill Parking Lot (1216 Maple Hill Rd). Just pull up and drop off donations; volunteers will be there to assist you.

Please do not donate expired (or close to expiring) items.

●Hearty Soups: such as Progresso or Campbell's Chunky Soups

●Cold or Hot Cereal: any dry cereals, oatmeal packets, etc.

●Condiments: mustard, ketchup, salad dressings, BBQ sauce, mayo

●Canned Meats: tuna, chicken, beef stew, chili

●Boxed Pasta & Pasta Sauce Jars: macaroni, spaghetti, lasagna, ziti, mac & cheese

●Sealed Snack Items: granola bars, crackers, fruit cups, cookies

●Canned Fruits & Veggies: peaches, pears, applesauce, pineapple, any vegetables

●Toiletries: deodorant, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes
