We collaborated with Perseverance Ranch to host a highly successful driving clinic for over 40 young riders at the 4H horse camp in Douglas County, utilizing Darby the pony and horses Classey and Jeannie the Percherons to instruct on the fundamentals of ground driving and team driving. We are proud to be part of this annual event, thanking all those who contributed to its success.

Attention Drivers, We invite you to participate in an educational opportunity with Douglas County 4H youth, introducing them to driving. On June 9th, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, four groups of 10 kids will visit the outdoor rodeo arena at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. To facilitate this experience, we require 3-4 carriages with singles or pairs and knowledgeable drivers. If you can assist and bring your horses, please respond by June 5th. Excited to expand the opportunities to drive and compete across the Midwest this year!

We are so excited to expand last year's "Midwest Triple Crown" with more events! Plan to attend the "Midwest Medley" events this year and win great ribbons and cash! Top 2 dressage scores out of 3 DT/CDE events, or top 3 out of 5 CT events attended. Divisions are Training, Preliminary, and Intermediate. See you all there!

Another driving derby in the books—and what a great one it was! Huge thank you to everyone who helped make it happen, from the drivers to the volunteers and everyone in between. It truly takes a team.
We loved seeing such a fun mix of equines out there—everything from minis to standard horses to drafts. That’s what makes these events so special!

We want to thank Terri Miller for her years at the helm of the club! Welcome back, Fred Wehrli as the CDS President! We also expanded the board back up to 9 members, welcome to Linda Quist and Carla Cerbone Baca for joining us and bringing your experience and ideas to the table! Its going to be a great 2026! The calendar for 2026 is available on the club's website, along with an updated new member form. We are working to finalize some of the dates/times and reservations for the various events so the calendar will update soon. Many thanks to all who gave us input on it!

It is our pleasure to announce the commencement of membership registrations for the 2026 calendar year. The annual dues structure comprises $30 for individual members and $35 for family memberships. An array of events are scheduled, encompassing membership meetings featuring educational clinics, driving derbies, fun drives and shows, the Sporting Day of Traditional Driving, and the Colorado CDE/CT. Members are advised to consult the organization's calendar regularly, as additional events will be continually added. We anticipate fostering a supportive environment conducive to advancing your driving objectives and providing enjoyable experiences for all members.

Membership forms can be accessed via the organization's website, where online payment options are available through PayPal or Venmo; consideration of a supplementary amount to offset transaction fees is appreciated. Alternatively, submitting forms via email is an option, thereby assisting the organization in reducing postage expenditures.

We extend an invitation to participate in the organization's activities and look forward to a productive year.

Our purpose includes the education around driving equine-drawn vehicles, improving and developing driving skills and following safety practices. We also work to educate the public about the fascinating carriage driving history.
