Castle Rock Fire and Rescue has extinguished fires at two homes in Castle Rock’s Founders neighborhood.

Shortly after 2 p.m., CRFD was dispatched to the call near the intersection of Lantern Trail and Hampstead Avenue. First responders were able to successfully evacuate three homes in the area. The fires were extinguished around 3:15 p.m. At this time, no injuries to civilians or firefighters have been reported. Additionally, one cat was rescued from a home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

South Metro Fire Rescue and Franktown Fire Protection District assisted with the firefighting efforts. Additionally, South Metro and Larkspur Fire Protection District helped with other calls that were occurring in Castle Rock during the incident.

There were multiple road closures during the incident. Fire and police will continue to be visible in the area during clean-up efforts, and firefighters will remain on scene to monitor hot spots.
