LEG Up Livestock Education Douglas County, CO Douglas County Fair Foundation in Colorado facilitates Livestock Education Grants for DC 4-H/FFA members.

With the support of our partners and sponsors, 4-H/FFA learn about raising market livestock. www.douglascountyfairfoundation.com/grants-scholarships The LEG Up program helps 4-H/FFA members interested in learning about raising market livestock. With the generous support of our sponsors and partners we are able to award 2 Steer, 2 pairs of lambs, $800 grant toward show pigs, 2 pairs of goats, 2 bre

eding trios of market rabbits. In 2023 we will include market poultry as well.

4-H/FFA members submit an application and participate in a live interview with the committee. Recipients also receive reimbursement of a portion of their expenses to raise the market animals. If all goes well with raising their projects and they meet the qualifications to show at the County Fair and their animal places well in their classes, they sell the animal at our annual sale. The 4-H/FFA member then keeps the proceeds from the sale to use on future projects or further their education.
