Planted Asclepias tuberosa and syriaca plugs as well as lemon balm and vervain. There is a lot of dogbane which is a pollinator favorite and the zinnias are popping up. Some wildflowers are blooming and the mimosa trees look beautiful right now!

What did we work on at the trail today?

Well, we planted monarda, mountain mint, yellow crownbeard and we are seeing if we can get a few small goji berry transplants to grow. We started cleaning the stable and used some of the wood left by the previous owner to build a few walls. Gotta couple good ideas for when the walls are completed

We did a lot of bed prep and dragged some downed trees out of the woods. The trees had to be removed to be able to get equipment down to the pond area. Lots to do down there. Do you think that was enough for one day?

Lots of frittilary butterflies out today.

After the nature fest we went back to the trail. We ran across this turtle and heard a bobwhite quail in the distance....

After the nature fest we went back to the trail. We ran across this turtle and heard a bobwhite quail in the distance. One thing we will be working on is a watchable wildlife element.

We are meeting with Quails Forever later this year to help us with our plan. Pretty neat!
