Please join us in celebrating a truly historic milestone. Marjorie Pedro has officially become a Mass Care Shelter Manager, making her the first ever in the US Virgin Islands!

Marjorie's journey to this moment is nothing short of remarkable. Since joining the American Red Cross in 1996, she has given 30 years of dedicated service to this organization and to the communities we serve. She has deployed as a Mass Care Shelter Supervisor on 19 missions, showing up, leading, and delivering for disaster survivors time and time again.

"Hurricanes Irma and Maria brought me to the Virgin Islands—what made me choose to call it home was witnessing the community's response and togetherness, the true meaning behind 'VI Strong.' "

Please join us in welcoming Crystal Tutein to our Red Cross family as community disaster program manager out of the STX office! Crystal brings over 25 years of emergency management experience to her role, including service as a 911 dispatcher, safety manager and disaster recovery operations leader. She worked extensively in the VI after the storms of 2017, conducting thousands of infrastructure assessments and working alongside local officials throughout the territory.

Crystal is a doctoral candidate at Grand Canyon University, where her dissertation research focuses on USVI disaster recovery leadership. She holds a Master's degree in Management from American Military University. We are grateful to have her onboard!
