What a day!! Congratulations to all athletes and Unified Partners who competed in the PPH Area Spring Games today! You gave it your all, despite the heat, and showed us what it means to compete with heart. Every race run, every throw made, every jump completed, and every finish line crossed was a victory worth celebrating. Your effort, perseverance, and support for each other are a big part of what makes days like this so great.
A huge thank you to our numerous volunteers, coaches, families and supporters who gave their time, energy and encouragement throughout the day. Thank you to the area credit unions, Hermon High School Army JROTC, Hampden students, Bangor Christian students, Maine Air National Guard, Eastern Maine Community College students, BNI Maine, Thriving Proof, local and Hampden PD, University of Maine Volunteer Ambulance Corp, area management team and the many individual volunteers that helped make today special.
Thank you to Hampden Academy Broncos for not only hosting, but fully engaging to really show the athletes how supported they are in this community!

It was a great start to a great day!  Thank you to the Hamden Academy band for helping us with opening ceremonies and to Jaron Baude for carrying our torch and leading us in the athlete oath. “Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.” Let the games begin!

Congratulations to all the athletes and unified partners that competed today at MMA in the unified bocce tournament! A HUGE thank you to Maine Maritime Academy for hosting the event and all the volunteers that made the day possible! Unlike the last couple of years, the ☀️ even made an appearance!

Thank you University Credit Union and University of Maine Black Bears Swimming and Diving Team for volunteering as well as the Bangor Region YMCA for hosting! It was a fantastic day!

On Monday, March 30, 2026, PPH High Flyers Special Olympics Basketball team hosted their end of season banquet, celebrating with pizza, chips, and just a great time!

During the banquet the inaugural Golden Classic Award, honoring the life, sportsmanship, and just goofball style of James Forrest, was awarded to Aidan Howe. Throughout the practices, tournaments, and overall basketball season, Aidan demonstrated incredible teamwork, ability to hustle and cheer on his team, and just play his hardest no matter if he made a basket or not. Aidan continually took his shot, just like James did, never gave up and just kept smiling. The embodiment of James’ style, joking nature, and just desire to have a good time.

Congratulations to Aidan and all of the PPH Athletes🎉
