The Community Care Coalition, Barry County officially has a place to call home!

We were honored to celebrate their new brick-and-mortar location with a special ribbon cutting surrounded by board members, volunteers, community partners, and supporters who believe in their mission.

Community Care Coalition, Barry County works tirelessly to serve Barry County by connecting individuals and families to essential resources, fostering collaboration among local agencies, and strengthening the overall well-being of our community. They enrich Cassville and the surrounding communities through literacy, fostering life long learning and equitable opportunities.

Having a permanent location marks an exciting new chapter — one that allows them to expand services, increase accessibility, and better serve those in need. This milestone is more than just a new building — it’s a symbol of growth, partnership, and a continued commitment to caring for our neighbors.

We are proud to serve as a registering agent for the Wolfner Library and are excited to have helped several individuals in Barry County get signed up!

The Wolfner Library provides free accessible reading materials for Missourians who are unable to use standard print due to visual impairment, blindness, physical disabilities, or reading disabilities. Services include audiobooks, Braille books, large print materials, digital downloads, and playback equipment, all delivered at no cost to eligible individuals.

It’s truly a blessing to help connect people with resources that open doors to learning, imagination, and lifelong reading. If you or someone you know could benefit, please reach out to us for more information. 📖🎧

We’ve received a few great questions about our Open Minds program recently, so we wanted to share some clarity for anyone who’s curious about how it works:

1. Are students required to take part, or is the program voluntary?
➡️ Participation is completely voluntary. Students choose to participate because they’re ready to grow, learn, and make meaningful changes.

2. Does participation reduce a student’s sentence or legal obligations?
➡️ No. Our program does not offer time off a sentence, reduced charges, or special legal consideration. Participants still complete all court requirements exactly as ordered.

3. What’s the heart of the program?
➡️ The heart of what we do is self-improvement. We focus on accountability, education, and life skills that help people build better futures.

We’re proud of the men and women who show up not for shortcuts, but for change. 💛

We are so deeply grateful for the incredible support shown to our organization and our students. 💛 This community continues to show up in meaningful ways, and every act of kindness helps move our mission forward. Thank you from all of our volunteers!

The Cassville Community Foundation recently awarded a $1,000 grant to the Community Care Coalition, Barry County to support its Open Minds Initiative.

The grant will be used to purchase life-skills workbooks and educational materials for incarcerated individuals participating in literacy, high school equivalency preparation and life-skills classes.

The Open Minds Initiative aims to provide participants with tools that support personal growth, education and successful reintegration into the community. Program leaders noted the positive ripple effect the initiative has on families and the broader community.

As we close out 2025, we want to say thank you to everyone who supported our work this year; our community, partners, and sponsors. Your belief in our mission makes all the difference.

A special thank you to our volunteers and Board members for the countless hours you dedicated, including over 1,300 educational hours provided inside the Barry County Jail. We are proud of what we’ve accomplished together and look forward to another year of impact, growth, and service. 💙

Special recognition to the Barry County Sheriff’s Office for their role in this year’s Angel Tree efforts and the commitment they show our community! Gifts were delivered last week, and through their dedication, along with the generosity of donors, children and families felt remembered, supported, and truly cared for during the holiday season. 💙🎁
