For generations, dairy foods have provided essential nutrients to people around the world. As nutrition science evolves, researchers continue to explore how different dairy foods contribute to overall health.

A new study found an association between higher dairy fat consumption and lower rates of high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic syndrome. The findings add to a growing body of research examining the role of full-fat dairy foods in healthy dietary patterns.

While nutrition guidance should never hinge on a single study, research continues to reinforce the importance of looking at whole foods and overall eating patterns rather than individual nutrients alone.

It was great to represent Missouri Dairy on the Hill in Washington DC this week. We joined South Dakota and Iowa, meeting with Deputy Undersecretary of Agriculture Richard Fordyce, as well as meeting with Congressman Jason Smith and Congressman Bob Onders' offices.
