We’re excited to highlight the hard work and innovation of three outstanding JAG students — Jackelin Cervantes, Clovee Williams and Elisa Lansdown! They turned a real student problem into a practical solution for our school!
After noticing that many students were heading home late from games and activities with low phone batteries (especially on long bus rides), these Wildcats got to work. Their idea for convenient charging stations became a full JAG project, which they presented at the state-level Career Development Conference last year.
To fund their project, they came up with a creative plan and sold smoothies at spring sporting events! With guidance from Sunshine Coffee House, they learned how to make the smoothies, set prices, order supplies and interact with customers.
Their dedication paid off, and thanks to their efforts, the charging stations they envisioned are now installed across our school!
📌 A quick note about using the charging stations:
Students are welcome to use the stations to charge their Chromebooks during the school day.
Cell phones can be charged after school hours.
Keep in mind: these stations provide a quick power boost, not a full charge, so they won’t work as fast as a personal charger.
From identifying a problem to building a solution, these JAG students showcased the initiative, teamwork, and problem-solving.
