Any chess players have a wrong idea about opening preparation, how it should be done and what you should expect from a good opening repertoire. They think that by memorizing a few lines in some opening they would be able win a game after game easily.

Congratulations to Evan Stewart for winning the 2015 Casselberry Chess Club Championship. Evan becomes the 9th Casselberry Chess Club Champion!

Evan finished the tournament undefeated with a perfect 4-0 score, and becomes the 2nd person behind 3 time Champion Johnny Nunez to ever accomplish this feat.

Herb Dickens finished in 2nd Place with a 3-1 score.
Yash Vardhen finished as the Top Scholastic player.

The 2015 Casselberry Chess Club Championship has reached the halfway point after 2 rounds and we have Evan Stewart and Herb Dickens tied for 1st place with 2 Points each.

This tournament will conclude this coming Thursday evening (April 23rd) between the hours of 7 - 11:00 PM at the "Wirz Park Recreational Center" in Casselberry.

Please feel free to come and watch the final 2 rounds of the 9th Annual Casselberry Chess Club Championship!
