Our cup runneth over!!
Today was our annual Thanksgiving Outreach Event and this year was the best we've had so far. I'm not quite sure just how many people we served today, but it was A LOT. We ran out of regular serving plates (there were 60 platter-sized plates), used up almost all of the styrofoam trays and had to resort to using some of the heavy-duty to-go containers. This showed that we were able to feed A LOT of individuals.
There were plenty of helpers, from setting up, serving food and cleaning up. We were able to send some leftovers home with one of the families that attend our outreach events so that she could feed them.
We definitely didn't lack food. Turkey, ham, roast pork, and a variety of sides, including mac n cheese, veggies, mashed potatoes, and more. We even had some baked beans (they are great with roast pork). Pies and cookies and cupcakes. Of course, a southern staple...banana pudding.
We are so blessed to have an amazing group of people to serve alongside with for these events. It's their desire to serve and their heart to take care of those in need that make outreach events like this a success.
And...of course, we have to thank our heavenly Father for blessing us today. Russ was able to deliver a message sharing God's Word and really highlighting thankfulness and God's goodness to those in attendance.
With God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). It's because of God that today was possible.
Thank you to all those who prayed, cooked, came out and served in any capacity, and also to those who wanted to be there today but the trials of life held them back for one reason or another. God sees your sacrifice and He receives it unto Himself. Great is your reward, it does not go unnoticed. We appreciate you all so much. Thank you ❤️
