Sorry this is so long and/or if it offends anyone but I feel the need to share…
It’s been a while since I posted a real insight into my life running the rescue. Since my divorce several years ago I went from being a stay at home mom whose life was rescue 24/7 to a single parent who works full time out of necessity. I work at a cancer hospital and I have the privilege of speaking to so many inspirational people on a daily basis. Both the workers and especially, the patients.
I had (what i can only refer to as a life changing) opportunity of meeting the most amazing woman the other day who as we chatted her experience came up in conversation. She told me in the course of her treatment she went into shock and was literally gone... She said during that time she remembered being in the most beautiful place with valleys and streams & all kinds of pets and other animals everywhere. She said it was just the most beautiful environment she could ever imagine. ..She said there were people and their pets finding each other and having reunions everywhere she could see. As a lifelong animal lover, she was looking and looking for all of her beloved pets that she had lost during her lifetime and she could not find them. She said at that moment she saw her special needs dog that she currently cares for and he told her “ you can’t stay here right now because you have to be the one to take care of me” she said at that moment she heard people yelling at her “can you hear me? “ “Can you hear me?” She woke up in a room that was a frenzy with her doctor yelling at her to wake up. She told me any logical person would want to stay in the place she was just at, that beautiful place of reunions.
I wanted to share this special glimpse of what I know is in store for anyone who is struggling right now with the loss of a beloved pet. You WILL see them again.
Thank you for your time!
