Volunteering is as vital as donating money, bringing personal time, skills, and energy to create lasting, meaningful community impact. We hope you will join us. Every May since 1963, our nation has celebrated Older Americans Month—a time to honor the generations who built our communities and continue strengthening them every day.

At AmeriCorps, we’re proud to recognize the older adults whose service bridges generations, supports neighbors, and ensures no one is left behind.

Last year, more than 130,000 older Americans served as AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteers, contributing over 29 million hours of reading with children, supporting older adults, strengthening nonprofits, and reducing poverty across the country.

Their wisdom, dedication, and compassion make our communities stronger. This month, and every month, we celebrate them.

Congratulation to Serve Wyoming Commissioner Dean Welch!

The Central Wyoming Fair & PRCA Rodeo is proud to announce Dean Welch as our 2026 Parade Marshal for this year’s “Celebrating America’s Spirit” parade, honoring America’s 250th anniversary!

A U.S. Navy veteran, Wyoming Army National Guard retiree, and longtime City of Casper employee, Dean has dedicated his life to serving his country and community. From his military service, including deployment to Kuwait and Iraq, to decades of volunteer leadership supporting veterans across Wyoming, Dean truly represents the spirit of America.

He continues to give back today through organizations like The American Legion, Serve Wyoming, and programs supporting veterans and local families.

Join us in celebrating Dean as he leads the parade on Tuesday, July 7, at 10 AM in Downtown Casper!
