Meet our Secretary, Dana Woods.

Wyoming born and raised, Dana has always come back to the mountains. But first, she saw the world.

She studied at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, spent time abroad at the University of Zaragoza in Spain, and during two leap years in between, traveled through Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education with a Minor in Anthropology in 2018 and came home to Teton Valley to raise her son close to family, community, and the mountains she loves.

Dana spent years in education, first teaching elementary students, then high school humanities, before making her way to the legal field as a paralegal at The Spence Law Firm. The through line across all of it is the same: advocacy for people who need a voice. Social equity and environmental justice are not just words to her. They are what gets her to work in the morning.

Outside of the office she is exploring nature with her son, their Malamute puppy, and black cat, or finding herself absorbed in art, literature, or dance.

Dana is new to LAW and we are so glad she found her way here. Wyoming paralegals come in all kinds of backgrounds and stories, and hers is one worth knowing.

This award is to recognize members or committees of affiliates for their contribution to the goals and programs of their NALA Affiliated Association.

She was nominated by Wendy Trembath and Amanda Nelson.

Meet our Second Vice President, Candace Adamson, ACP.

Candace has called Casper home since 2003 and started her legal career at 20 years old as a secretary at Murane and Bostwick, LLC. She did not stay a secretary for long. She worked her way up to paralegal, built experience across several law offices, and landed at The Spence Law Firm in March 2022, where she gets to do what she has always been passionate about, advocating for people who truly need it.

Along the way she earned her Associate of Arts in Paralegal Studies from Casper College as a non-traditional student, her Certified Paralegal credential through NALA in 2018, and two advanced CP credentials in discovery and trial practice. Her specialty is civil litigation defense, including personal injury and medical malpractice, but her heart has always been with the people on the other side of the table.

When she is not at the office, Candace is kayaking, walking, or running with friends, training her two Labrador retrievers, or playing board games and pass the paddle with her husband Rick, her high school sweetheart, and their two teenagers.

She has been a LAW member on and off since 2010 and has served on the board in several roles since 2022. We are glad she keeps coming back.

Meet our First Vice President, Kathleen Davis, ACP.

Kathleen grew up in San Diego, earned her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Chapman University, and made her way to Casper, Wyoming in 2022. Wyoming's gain.

Her path to the legal field is one of our favorites. After 17 years managing at Sportsman's Warehouse, Kathleen made a career change that most people would find intimidating. In April 2022 she joined Williams, Porter, Day and Neville, P.C. as a paralegal. In May 2022 she graduated from Casper College with a post-bachelor's certificate in Paralegal Studies. In June 2023 she earned her Certified Paralegal credential. In January 2024 she added an Advanced Certified Paralegal designation in Family Law through NALA.

Outside of work, Kathleen keeps busy with her fiancé Darren and their six kids between them. If she is not watching someone play baseball, softball, or soccer, she is out hunting, shooting archery, or finding any excuse to be outdoors.

She has been a LAW member since 2022 and we are proud to have her continuing as First Vice President for the 2026-2027 term.

Next up in our Board of Directors series, meet our President-Elect, Sarah Pugh, ACP.

Sarah moved to Sheridan, Wyoming from Tennessee in 2001 and started her legal career as a legal secretary at Yonkee and Toner. Curious and driven, she enrolled in the Casper College Paralegal Program in 2004, became a LAW member while still a student, and graduated in 2006. She went on to earn her Certified Paralegal credential and her Advanced Certified Paralegal designation in trial practice, discovery, and social security. She did not stop there.

Sarah built a career that covered a lot of ground, independent contractor work for Social Security and Workers' Compensation attorneys, Assistant Deputy Clerk, and Judicial Assistant in Buffalo, Wyoming. She has served as LAW secretary more times than we can count, and we are grateful for every one of them.

On Thanksgiving Day 2019, Sarah and her husband Tracey packed four large suitcases and moved to Hawaii. She now works for the Office of Public Defenders in Kailua-Kona, and spends her time outside of work scuba diving and exploring the island in their Jeep.

Wyoming roots. Hawaiian sunsets. And still showing up for LAW.

LAW-The Wyoming Paralegal Association has a new Board of Directors for the 2026-2027 term, and we want you to meet them.

Over the next few weeks we will be introducing each board member, the people who volunteer their time to make sure Wyoming paralegals have a professional home, resources, and a community that takes this profession seriously.

We are proud of this group, and we are starting with our new President.

Meet Cynthia Landon, ACP.

Cynthia has called Casper home since 1979, went to school here, earned her Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Wyoming, and built her entire legal career in this state.
She started in the Natrona County Circuit Court, moved into the legal assistant world at the True Companies, and is now a paralegal at The Spence Law Firm.
Along the way she completed the Paralegal Program at Casper College, earned her Certified Paralegal credential, and went even further and is now an Advanced Certified Paralegal in Business Structure through NALA.

When she is not at the office you can find her reading, going to concerts, playing board and card games, or spending time with her husband Kyle, daughter Ashton, three dogs, and one cat.

Cynthia joined LAW in 2022 and we are proud to have her leading the association into the 2026-2027 term.
