Tomorrow, Adjutant Kyle A. Orbinati departs Casper to represent Casper Legion Post at the 2026 Department of The American Legion - Department of Wyoming Convention in Powell, WY.

As my final term ends as the Commander tonight, I wanted to publicly thank Post 2 and Squadron 2 for all 3 years that I have as Commander.

When I stepped into the Squadron, I was having to take the place of a Commander that left too early in life. The Squadron was a mess, and hadn't had a meeting in who knows how long.

For the past 3 years we have either met or exceeded our goal for membership, with the help of the sponsoring Post members, and helped where we have been able to.

As Commander-Elect Graves takes helm officially tonight, we will hopefully have our By-Laws passed for the first time in years, and off to another year.

I will be around still as Adjutant, replacing my son after 2 years as Adjutant and before that Post Adjutant Dean Welch holding the fort. I have also expressed interest to the Detachment Commander to continue as the District 3 Coordinator for the Detachment as well as a spot in Legion District.

Today, Commander Kyle A. Orbinati attended the Natrona County United Veterans Council memorial Day ceremony with Post Commander Larry Seems, Post Vice Commander Larry Winzenried, Post Sergeant at Arms Ray Wulf and Post Adjutant Dean Welch. A wreath was placed in behalf of the Squadron.

Tuesday, 19 May 2026, Commander Kyle A. Orbinati along with Casper Legion Post Commander Larry Seems and Post Adjutant Dean Welch presented 3 American Legion Awards to Cadets at the Kelly Walsh High School MCJROTC Awards Ceremony.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the new Company Company Commander, and one of the Awardees was promoted to Cadet Major.

Squadron Sergeant-At-Arms: Trevin Graves (Reappointment)
Squadron Finance Officer: Brian Peterson (TAL, Reappointment).

I have enjoyed my 3 years as commander, but am looking forward to the leadership of Commander Graves as I continue at the District Level for both the Legion and the Sons.

This is the Unit fundraiser for the past 3 years. It was originally the Natrona County United Veterans Counsel's project that was given to the Casper Legion Post after the passing of the original creator, then the Post gave it to us.
