It's a great day---the 2022 boxes are installed (bringing our total to 31 boxes wrapped!) The box by the Nic has been re-wrapped after that box was hit by a vehicle! Thank you to the artists: Raye Kiffe, Kelby Eisenman, Kristin Schaeffer, and Angela Volzke. Thanks also to Shirts n More for doing such a wonderful job installing the work.

It's nice to see other arts organizations notice the traffic wrap program. We certainly love driving/walking/cycling around town and seeing them. Which one is your favorite?

As you drive west on E. 15th Street, you can’t miss this traffic light signal cabinet that is wrapped in everything that makes up the Oil City. In 2019, Keep Casper Beautiful wrapped the traffic light signal cabinets with artwork by Rozmaring Czaban. This wrap is on the corner of E. 15th Street and S. Durbin Street and is called “Oil City.”

Casper has a secure load ordinance to prevent litter and injuries. Unsecured loads can cause traffic accidents.

Today, June 6, is Secure Your Load Day. Why today is important:

- According to a recent study by the AAA Foundation for Safety, more than 200,000 crashes in the past four years were caused by road debris. What’s worse? The study showed that road debris resulted in approximately 39,000 injuries and 500 deaths between 2011 and 2014.

- Here’s another startling statistic: As a nation, we spend up to $11.5 billion on litter, and it is estimated that 20 to 40 percent of that litter is from unsecured loads.

We celebrated Arbor and Earth Day with two tree plantings today. The first was this morning with the Sagewood Elementary Agriculture Club. The second was this afternoon with Flowstate. Thank you to both groups! We planted ten new trees in Fairdale Park.
