Scenic Rivers AHEC Scenic Rivers AHEC is a non-profit organization that develops and enhances education and training networks within rural and underserved areas.

Providing student opportunities including summer health careers camp, educational outreach opportunities, academic immersion experiences, student/community/organization project opportunities, continuing education for health professionals and community health outreach.

Our recent Community Health Immersion challenged students to think differently about healthcare access and equity. Through visits to Dane County Jail, Prairie du Chien Correctional Facility, Grant County Jail, and Oakhill Correctional Institution, along with conversations with professionals, students explored how healthcare is delivered in jails and prisons and the challenges individuals face during and after incarceration.

We're excited to welcome our CHIP 2026 interns! 🌟

This year, we are proud to support 13 students placed across 11 host sites throughout the Scenic Rivers AHEC region. These experiences will help them grow professionally while supporting amazing work in community health settings.
