Recently the Rotary Club of Cashmere conducted a fundraiser at Yonder Cider for Cashmere Cares, administered by the school foundation. Our club can't thank the community enough for its generous support of Cashmere Cares. Our goal was to raise $10,000 and through the rich generosity of the Cashmere community, we raised in excess of $11,000. Our communities' support of those in basic need of food, clothing, and supplies demonstrates that we belong to a caring community seeking to come alongside and help those in need. If you were unable to attend and wish to support Cashmere Cares go to the school foundation to donate: https://www.cashmereschoolsfoundation.org/.

Last week our Rotary club sponsored a Christmas pizza party for the first grade class from Vale Elementary School. We set up tables and chairs in a nice venue and then they came by the busloads, nearly 100 children! The children sang a number of Christmas songs and shared a few poems. After finishing our pizza, apples, and soda, a very special person made a guest appearance - Santa Claus! However, one little boy was doubtful and remarked, "I think he's a fake Santa. He's wearing socks." Haha.

On Friday, November 22, the Rotary Club of Cashmere came alongside the Food Pantry and delivered 33 boxes of food for Thanksgiving to elderly and needy residents in the Cashmere area. In addition to a box full of nonperishables, residents received bread, grapes, eggs, milk, cheese, and a frozen turkey or chicken. Our hope is that we made the residents' Thanksgiving celebration a bit more enjoyable.
