This month's Chaplain Enrichment Training will provide attendees with an overview of the mission and vision of the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC), along with current organizational updates and academic offerings available to members. Participants will gain insight into ICPC’s continued commitment to developing professional law enforcement chaplains through dynamic education and support, while advancing its vision of providing the means for an effective law enforcement chaplaincy program in every agency. The course will also review chaplain credentialing requirements and opportunities for professional development within the organization. Attendees are invited to join ICPC in supporting chaplains and the agencies they serve as this vision becomes a reality.
ICPC President Paul Ellis, Credentials Committee Chairman Richard Hartman, and Education Committee Chairman J. Wayne Chaisson. The CET will also be moderated by Chaplain Jared Altic.

PTSD is common, measurable, and treatable—and early support can change outcomes. First responders face repeated exposure to trauma, which is why organizations benefit from strong peer support, education, and clear pathways to care. Let’s keep the conversation going and make support easier to access.

Greetings,

As the International Conference of Police Chaplains Annual Training Seminar approaches, all the final details are being put into place. One of those is securing monitors for each class. We take great pride in the high standard of education and training we provide at our Training Seminars. As a result we have strict and specific guidelines to ensure that our training is valid, complete, and done with the utmost integrity.

To be a class monitor, you must meet the following criteria set forth by our Education Committee.
-No first-time attenders may serve as monitors
-1st preference should be Education Committee members or ICPC Certified Instructors taking the class
-Must be an ICPC member in good standing
-Must be an ICPC member for a minimum of 1 year
-Must have a minimum of a Chaplain Basic Credential
As a monitor, we ask that you report to the ICPC Office at the ATS venue 15 minutes before class begins. You will pick up the class monitor envelope that includes the instructor bio, course sign-in sheets and Monitor Instructions. Once you confirm you are able to serve, you will be emailed the Monitor Instructions to review beforehand.

Please reach out to Chaplain Jenny Lanzen at [email protected] if you have interest in serving.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. we look forward to hearing back from you!

Knowing what to watch for can support earlier, more effective help. PTSD symptoms may show up as intrusion (flashbacks, nightmares), negative mood/cognition (guilt, shame, loss of interest), hyperarousal (irritability, sleep disruption), and occupational indicators (numbing on calls, burnout). Recognition + peer support + timely referral can make a meaningful difference.

Healing takes courage.” Sometimes the bravest step is talking to someone, accepting support, or checking in with a teammate. Building resilient organizations means normalizing care, strengthening peer support, and using evidence-informed approaches to recovery and wellbeing.
