Cary-Grove Area Crime Stoppers

Cary-Grove Area Crime Stoppers A not-for-profit organization that raises funds for the Crime Stoppers and the Cary-Grove community. Crime Stoppers is a not-for-profit organization.

We rely solely on donations from private citizens and local businesses. No funds are received from government agencies or programs, nor are tax dollars used to pay rewards. Crime Stoppers depends on you for the funds necessary to gather the clues that can help stop crime. Nationwide, only one out of four felony cases is actually solved. Crime Stoppers is helping to reserve this trend, and has a 95

% conviction rate nationally. Thousands of cases have been solved, and millions of dollars worth of stolen property and narcotics have been recovered. Locally, our programs have helped police solve many cases that might otherwise have gone unsolved. Your input to this program is vital. We need your support to continue our fight against crime in our communities. You can help us by making a tax-deductible donation, by providing service of some type, or by calling with information that could be helpful in solving a crime. Crime Stoppers gives everyone a way to fight back against crime. With your assistance we can make our communities better and safer places to live.

The Cary-Grove Crime Stoppers is happy to support our local police departments. We recently donated to the Fox River Grove PD by covering registration fees for several specialty law enforcement training courses. Helping to support those who protect and serve the Cary-Grove community is just one of the ways that we give back, and it wouldn't be possible without all of our great supporters. If you have made a donation, attended our events, or sponsored our golf outing, then you are helping us make a difference. So... THANK YOU! We really appreciate it!

!*!*!Scam alert!*!*! We want to share this post from the McHenry County Sherrifs Department. With all of the construction going on after this summers storms, anyone who is waiting on a building permit or if you plan to apply for one soon, please read their bulletin.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1G8HA1Ejq7/

McHenry County is warning residents of a scam involving fraudulent emails pretending to originate from the Planning and Development Department.

A scammer is sending fake emails targeting people who have submitted zoning or permit requests. They include real case details scraped from the County’s online streaming of meetings to make the messages look legitimate. The fraudulent emails, sent from a usa.com address, inform constituents that their permit was approved and encourage them to open an attached invoice and pay for their permit through a link.

If you receive such an email with a usa.com address, delete it immediately and flag it as spam. Besides the risk of sending money to a scam artist, clicking a link or opening an attachment in a scam email could expose your computer and/or your network to malware, viruses, or ransomware.

All official McHenry County government business uses addresses from its official mchenrycountyil.gov domain – we never use usa.com or any other address.

If you are in the process of obtaining, updating or paying for a permit with McHenry County, it is done entirely through our online portal at https://www.mchenrycountyil.gov/departments/planning-development.

If you have questions or concerns about the legitimacy of an email you receive from the Planning and Development Department, you can always verify it by calling 815-334-4560 or emailing [email protected].
